Profiling Session Step-by-step

Working with CloverDX Data Profiler consists of these basic steps:

  1. Getting the data. Data sources which you can profile: a file (e.g. flat file, CSV or even multiple files at once), a database table or an Excel sheet (XLS/XLSX).

  2. Specifying metadata. Metadata describe the input data.

  3. Specifying metrics.

  4. Specifying sampling of the input data.

    Having performed this and all preceding steps, you have created a new Job (see Creating Jobs)

  5. Running the job. This will produce a single Run.

  6. Observing results of your profiling jobs.

  7. Other optional tasks, such as: exporting results, changing job settings (Modifying Jobs), etc.
